Expert Advice Q&A: Is eating meat healthy?

Yes is can be if eaten in the right amounts, and if it is raised in the right way. Meat is a great source of protein and B vitamins. I recommend eating locally raised organic, hormone free, pasture raised poultry and eggs.  Organic grass fed and grass finished beef is more nutrient dense and contains a higher content of heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids.   This also goes for lamb and pork as well.  Animals that are pasture raised, free of antibiotics and hormones, and fed a high quality organic diet, are going to be happier, healthier, and are produce higher quality meat.  Fresh organic veggies should be the true focus of any meal.  Think of meat as more of a side dish. A 3-ounce serving is all you need; this is about the size of a deck of cards.  For more information and resources check out my website, or even better come on in for your FREE 15 minute coordination consultation and see how Dr. Danni can help advance you advance your way to better health.
